Top 10 Tips On Writing A Salon Promotion Advert
If you’re looking to build a salon business and attract more clients through salon marketing,a salon offer is a great way to achieve it.
Whether it is in the form of a paper advert or on-line offer, getting the best ‘bang from your buck’ is your obvious goal.
When you are deciding on what offer to make, you should first decide on what you want to achieve from it.
It could be you want to;
Promote a new service
Promote a new staff member
Attract new clients
Build your brand awareness
Offer a discounted service
Whatever it is, know your objective.
Now on to writing the copy or words for your chosen advert.
If you look in any newspaper or magazine you will see that some adverts grab your attention and some just disappear into the page. It’s important whilst constructing your offer that you think like your potential client would..
What would make you take action, to call that number, to bother to cut out that coupon or even read further than the first line?
Good copy writers are paid massive salaries to make us do all of that and with some help you can do that too.
Top 10 Tips On Writing A Great Salon Offer Advert.
Choose a single benefit of your product or service that you wish to highlight above everything else. This is your Principal Selling Position or P.S.P. Is it the price?, the convenience?, the quality?
Write attention-grabbing headlines. People skim read, and if your headline doesn’t get their attention they won’t read any further. Your headline will often be based around your PSP.
Write a list of all the features of your product or service and then turn each of these into a benefit for the customer. Ask “What will it do for me?”
Write copy that emphasises the benefits in a way that makes an emotional connection. For example; if you’re promoting eye lash extensions tell them ‘create sexy looking eyes’.
Start with your strongest selling points.Use them to create a desire for your product or service by briefly touching on the major benefits it will bring the customer.Bullet point 5 benefits.
Testimonials sell well so good, believable testimonials from real people will help sales.. For even better credibility, ask your testimonial writers if you can include their contact details along with their testimonial..
Write with a natural style. Don’t try to be pretentious or over friendly. Just write it the way you’d say it.
The final sales pitch, when it comes, must have three specific parts: 1/ It must incorporate a good deal or added value e.g. “40% off!” 2/ Must be urgent; e.g. “Only seven more days!” 3/ It must be risk free; e.g. “Backed by a 90-day, no-questions-asked, money-back guarantee!”
End by telling the reader what to do; e.g. “Call now” or “Cut out this voucher” and must be clearly visible and simple to follow.
Avoid using large images and making your company logo the centre point of the ad. Your business name, logo and details should go at the bottom of the copy. Remember, the client wants to know what’s in it for them. Not you.
Finally, always add any social media contacts to your advert such as your Facebook Page as this is a great way to build interest.

A Mindset for Business
Do you have a mindset for business? I mean the kind of mindset for a lot of business, but also for the kind of business you want.
There are literally hundreds of books on the market that deal with “having a winning attitude” or “positive thinking” in business. Plus, there are a myriad of speakers, teachers, and self-proclaimed gurus who charge good sums of money for their services to show you how to improve in this area. Many of the books as well as the teachers are excellent and go a long way toward leading the way to thinking in a more productive way.
But, no matter how excellent the book or teacher, the truth is, it all comes down to you and your thoughts. That’s where ‘the rubber meets the road’, so to speak because you are the only one who can change your thinking.
On the surface, this idea of changing the way you think, seems simple. Even easy. Yet, have you ever really tried it? Have you tried to keep your thoughts on the things you want rather than on what you don’t want?
It isn’t simple or easy, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done.
So, what does this have to do with having a business mindset? Everything! Thoughts are creative and some even say “thoughts are things”. Thoughts influence what happens in our lives and that includes our business.
You can start today having a mindset for business. Begin by taking an inventory of your thoughts. Observe your thoughts and see how you’re viewing your business. Are you seeing yourself attracting more customers or clients? Are you envisioning your business growing?
Or are you focused on the state of the economy and worried you won’t be able to pay your monthly expenses? Take inventory of those thoughts and images. What are you holding in mind?
You know what happens when someone tells you, “Don’t think of a purple elephant”. The same principle applies to the way we think about other things too. If you say, well, I don’t want to think of my business failing, guess what image pops into your mind?
So, start today, taking an inventory of your thinking in terms of your business. For a few days, take time to be aware of your thoughts. Be vigilant, but don’t “beat yourself up” when you find yourself thinking what can be called “negative”. You can make a game of it by just observing the patterns.
We are all creatures of habit, especially when it comes to thinking. When you start out trying to change a habit, you need to be on guard. Just like when wanting to change course when driving a car, you might have to go in reverse and then forward before turning around. The same idea applies to changing your habits of thought.
